Virgin Media increases fleet management system

Many of the management reporting tools provided by the SageQuest system support Virgin Media’s goal of continuous improvement in environmental performance, according to Maurice Daw, executive director – access, Virgin Media.

Daw explained that the solution’s reports allow for reductions in fuel usage, enhancements in driver safety and advancements in customer service.

“We’ve been able to replace assumptions with facts,” said Daw. “SageQuest gives us an unbiased, real-time view of what is going on in the field with instant access to data, scaled so that any number of users can access the system without slowing or crashing.”

SageQuest’s fuel saving features include monitoring of engine idling and a provision for alerts that helps drivers avoid traffic congestion. Daw indicated Virgin Media expects “immediate impact” from these features.

“The safety of our field technicians is paramount,” added Daw. “This system alerts management to put appropriate protections in place. We believe that selecting the right tools that will increase the safety of our technicians, reduce their drive times, improve our subscribers’ experience and support our environmental initiatives will have a big pay-off for us.

“Virgin Media is confident it will see wide-ranging improvements through the use of the system.”
