Puma to part ways with supply chain chief

Seiz has been with the company for 23 years and has been a member of the Puma board of management since 2008. In that time he has gone from the design and development department to building a global sourcing structure and a network of suppliers. In 2011 he was appointed as a managing director.

In a statement to the press, Puma explained that the departure was amicable, with Seiz planning to pursue new professional challenges after his departure in January 2013.

Puma hit headlines when it announced plans to work with its suppliers to provide a ’carbon calculator’ which would reveal the cost of emissions and water usage in its supply chain. This ’seminal moment’, as one analyst described it, was perhaps the most recognised part of a long campaign to develop ethical and environmental standards among suppliers, part of Seiz’s legacy.

Puma thanked Seiz for his dedication to the worldwide implementation of the long-term sustainability programme as well as his achievements in assembling a team capable of managing global procurement.

A successor is yet to be announced.
