AUTUMN STATEMENT: UK chancellor demands further efficiency savings from departments

Whitehall must deliver another 1 per cent cut next year and a further two per cent the year after as George Osborne tells underperforming departments to up their game to the level of the Department for Education and Department for Communities and Local Government.
