Chevron appoints new CPO

Maria Lindenberg has taken over as CPO from Leo Lonergan, who will retire from the company on 1 February. Lindenberg will oversee Chevron’s enterprise-wide supply chain management activities.

Lindenberg joined Chevron in 2007 as vice president, global downstream procurement. She then moved to general manager, contracting and procurement for Chevron’s Project Resources Company, and assumed her most recent assignment, based in Luanda, Angola in 2011.

She most recently served as general manager of supply chain management for Chevron’s Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit.

Commenting on the appointment, executive vice president Jim Blackwell said, “Maria brings more than 30 years of broad supply chain management experience in the oil and gas industry into her new role.

“Her functional knowledge and international industry experience, coupled with her proven leadership and relationship management skills, enables her to continue Chevron’s drive for supply chain management excellence.”

On Longergan’s retirement Blackwell said: “Over the past seven years, Leo led the transformation of our procurement and supply chain management organisation into a highly-skilled, enterprise-focused function, delivering strong supplier engagement.

“During his tenure as chief procurement officer, Leo demonstrated a passion for integrity and transparency in all third-party relationships and served as a key member of our senior management team. We thank Leo for his many years of service and contributions to Chevron.”
