Japanese tech firms target procurement benefits with smartphone chip joint venture

Japanese mobile technology provider NTT DoCoMo will partner South Korea’s Samsung Electronics to produce chips for smartphones, changing the landscape for handset manufacturers and reaping reduced procurement costs in the process according to the Nikkei business daily.
