In a statement the company said that Roger Seshan, who held the position of group asset optimisation and supply chain director, had left in order to take up a project development role within the power sector.
Seshan had been appointed as the companies supply chain chief in January 2012 and was responsible for the group’s supply chain relationships, organisational and asset optimisation, legal, internal audit and security.
In a statement Laing O’Rourke said: “Roger has driven forward our extensive optimisation agenda delivering improved common principles and approaches in several areas including policy deployment, intellectual property management and supply chain management.
“Asset and supply chain optimisation remain fundamental to our strategy and we will now identify a successor to drive forward the platform developed by Roger and the wider team. We would like to place on record our thanks to Roger for his many contributions and wish him further success in the future.”
Seshan has previously worked for UK-based utility company Scottish Power on largescale infrastructure projects.
